06:50 – Bucharest Otopeni Check in was fine. Let`s just say that “Up in the air” had something to do to the way I packed my bags this time. I literally flew through customs.
Air France all the way to Paris. The breakfast on the plain was crap. But I’m used to that. Air France has probably the worst food in the industry, for the coach… at least.
I expected to find Charles de Gaulle Airport the same as 3 years ago. A chaotic construction site, but I was in for a world of amazement.
The minute we hopped off the plane I realized that they finished the new terminals and they updated the rest. Everything was so simple, so architectural and everything just worked! As Chase Jarvis said “the best camera is the one you have on you”.
The pictures are taken using HiCon Lite App. (sorry I’m not linking but it’s hard to do this on the iPhone.
23:00 – Cincinnati
A connection city, a international aerial hub.
By this time we were supposed to have news on the whole “pick-up from the airport” agreement. We had news alright but they weren’t the one we were hoping for. They were more like “I’m sorry but I have no car available” news. Fuck it. Plan B time.
02:00 – Chicago (final aerial destination) – times expressed in Romanian TimeZone.
By the time we got to Chicago, we were awake for more than 48h. The jet-lag was like a clown stomping our heads with big red boots … again, and again, and again.
We managed to get on the subway and headed for the Hostel. We had no map, but thanks to a good memory we got there ok.
It was around 19:00 hours at the time we reached the Hostel. We checked in and then went out to grab a bite.
Plan B worked wonderfully. More in the next episode.
